Colouring Book: Mythographic Animals - Joseph Catimbang

This didn't turn out how I wanted, I'll be honest. The original idea I had was that the foliage and background would be painted the same colour, this time I used Twinkling H20s to paint it. I'm disappointed in them, btw. I didn't want like... INSANE shimmer, but either I used them wrong or they weren't what I wanted. I'm not sure which is the answer there. Either way, the next part of the plan was to put high detail into the foliage and I... well, I didn't manage it. I got tired of it pretty quickly, in fact. There's only a few things in there with detail, see if you can find them. I don't hate how this came out. In fact, Joseph himself was rather complimentary of my efforts, and that feels good, but it's not what I imagined it could be if I'd executed it correctly.

Colouring Book: Flowers and Sweet Girls - DadaMao

I wanted to do something green and beautiful, and I also wanted to revisit this book. It's strange that I do enjoy it because I honestly dislike colouring flowers. I dunno what it is, but I just don't like them. Something about this book charms me though, and I really enjoy the experience. That being said, I feel like it comes out kinda strange when I use Inktense pencils on it. It looks grainy and choppy, especially in the pictures. The holbein pencils did better, and were fun to colour with, but it's still strange looking. I did use copic on the skin, which is why it's so smooth. It went through, because of course it did, but the other side is just a picture of the dress. Since I just got into Rainbow High dolls, I've been experiencing makeup looks irl for the first time and I mimicked their eye makeup. I think it looks okay? It looks pretty okay.

Colouring Book: Kaleidomorphia - Kerby Rosanes

Disclaimer: This book was provided for free for use and review by the publisher Plume Books. My views are my own.

This year and the burnout has hit me really hard, and I've had a hard time enjoying my colouring as the hobby it started out as. I'm trying to give myself some grace and just do whatever comes to mind, whenever it comes to me, and however I decide how to do it. I LOVE my copics and prefer to be able to use them. Well, double sided books don't like copics, but since I was kindly provided this book for free, and it has images I do already have in his other books, I figured it's not a HUGE deal to have the colours go through the paper.

I honestly really like how this came out. I searched out what a sunset would look like from underwater, I stamped a few images from Sweet November stamps to frame the bottom of the page. That's another thing I might not do in a double sided page haha, but I think it really brought together the original bottom of the page.

Stamping: The Sun Will Rise Jar w/Lawn Fawn

I've done a lot of these little scenes inside jars, and most of them I've given away to my community during livestreams. Usually because I've made them on livestream. This one, however, was made when I noticed the hashtag #cardsforUkraine trending on Instagram. I wanna make it clear I wasn't involved in any charity or giveaway and didn't use the hashtag for any other reason than to hopefully uplift spirits of those impacted by the war. I wanted to create something bright, and positive, and include the colours of the Ukrainian flag.

I really love making these little jars and I definitely need to make time to do more of them.
